A few tips to make a good proxy!

Hey Guys!

I joined the proxy market October 2007. From then I have concentrated on one of my proxies. This has lead to a major success. I'm going to share a few things with you guys so it might help you.

Most proxy webmasters will find people using their proxy will aim to visit MySpace.com, if your proxy does not work with MySpace you will find out the hard way with no traffic. YouTube.com is also a major site that people visit.

A good host is paramount...Ive learnt the hard way by picking cheap hosting with alot of bandwidth. Thing is bandwidth isnt everything; CPU and load on the server pay a large part. Some proxy scripts consume more power than others, I personally havnt used other scripts except Phproxy. Ive been using this proxy script for over 5 months now and everytime I pick a host it seems to overload the server.
Dont ask me why I have no clue...But basically picking a good host which can offer quality service with good support is ideal.

Like I touched on in the previous paragraph, picking a script is very important. You can find a list of the available proxy scripts here.
All the scripts in my thread are free and there is loads of support around for them because they are all widely used.

Topsites...well alot of people say its a rubbish way of bringing in traffic. I have to say its not bad to start a proxy off. Start submitting your proxy to as many topsites as you can. You may need to add backlinks which can get messey after a while.
Once you have some traffic you can start looking for the bigger fish. You can look for paid advertising which can cost a bit but if you look at it a different way it can be an investment. I started my first paid advertising at http://www.station2you.com/ which gave me loads of traffic. I even had alot of returning visitors.

More tips are on the way
