The Best Web Development Language

Which is your favourite web development language? A question asked by many but not always answered truthfully by the people who answer. So here is my question, what is your favourite language? ASP, PHP, VBScript?

To start us off PHP is my favourite language. What's yours?

Has to be PHP here too. I don't like JS or ASP etc, the class style languages aren't my thing.

Actually Sohan, PHP is very much a class-styled language from PHP5 onwards, the OOP side of PHP has been much advanced in PHP5. And classes are so much easier to use anyway .

Html

I seem to like HTML because of its simplicity and ease of use, although if you had the knowledge you would be pretty happy and well off with PHP. But right now i enjoy mixing HTML with a bit of PHP to make it a bit more User-Friendly like "time loaded" etc...

In my opinion, time loading a page is very important, and key to a successful website.

I dont have a favourite but i would say each language has its benefits. Php can do some amazing things but its not great for interactivity, unless you use AJAX (my favourite) or flash with it.

PHP is powerful but I would say not as powerful as CGI which is codeable using Perl. so I'd say Perl/CGI.

Tom, I second you, Classes add a wonderful ease of programming, Maybe a lot programmers are still using non OOPS.

I have also heard that RoR [Ruby on Rails] is going to change the shape of programming line very soon because of reusability of code, my friend is in java programming and they implement rails built in ruby in their java projects, I hope ruby is really doing something better then php.

I will learn ruby

PHP is the best web development language and widely used by lot of web designers. HTML is very easy to use. But I like JS more than all.
