BTW hostgator seems to use fraud techniques to raise alexa rank, It seems kinda unbelievable to me.

Have you heard of DP's alexa rank pretty high.

Well no comprehensive, But still its hard to believe, Since hostgator is strategied on affiliate marketing and their big percentage of business comes from affiliates and not direct advertising, The affiliate pages land through CJ's pages.

I doubt they use some tricks like auto surfing scripts to raise their alexa rank, its actually so easy to do.

I've heard a lot of bad things about HostGator recently, with their downtime and support.

I am currently hosted with them, and the support is AMAZING, and no down time to speak of.

All these problems u specified are destined to happen on a shared hostng environment, because you dont know what one user out of hundreds on the node is performing, lots of scripts bugs/pirates/developers often create problems for hosters and their customers.

even on a VPS environment these kinds of loads and downtimes are heard. Hostgator is no exception for. Better life with a dedicated, even low end.
