How many of you parked your domains? Is it profitable to park our domains?
|
I have several hundred domains parked over various parking companies, including DomainSponsor, Fabulous, Sedo and Namedrive.
It can be profitable parking your domains to an extent. For example, if you have a health insurance domain getting around 50
type ins a
month with 20 clicks, each click earning $2-3.. you've already made back your reg fee x8 times.
On the other hand, lets say you have an
expired website which used to be a
proxy.. you wouldnt expect as much revenue. Lets say 200 uniques a day, 30 clicks a day, 3c a click.. $27 monthly profit.
So you can immediately see the difference between parked domains which recieve type in traffic, and domains which are getting expired website traffic.
When it comes to selling the domains, which do you think will take priority?
A
pure type in health insurance related name, or an expired proxy, where traffic will die down in 2 weeks max.
This is an excellent example when to park domains and not to develop them.
The health related domain would fetch $1k easily, and the proxy name around $150. Well, from my experiences.
With what i said above, the parking provider will play a
massive part.
Domainsponsor.com requires around 100 domains for you to be entered into the program, and once your in there are many benefits. Sticking to my example, the health domain would get around $2/3 a click (+/- $1.5).
However, from my experiences, domainsponsor doesn't pick up traffic from places such as the middle east/asia (
where most proxy traffic comes from, the majority of the time - unless your sohan ofcourse, with 95% US traffic), which is a negative, because to cite your domains forsale, you will need some traffic proof.. as this is the basis of your sale.
My above statement is trying to tell you that different parking companies excel within their own rights. Take Sedo for example, they will pick up the Middle Eastern/Asian traffic right away, but will pay around 50c for the health insurance click (Not SedoPro).
If you have any questions related to parking, feel free to drop me a PM.

I also dont recommend anybody using SEDO, Just think, they earn from your domain and give you a part

What are Google Adsense doing? Earning from your site, and giving you a cut. Everyone does it. Adengage, Adbrite, YPN.
This is also evident in tangible goods. My local newsagent buys a chocolate bar for £0.15 from the Wholesaler. They then sell it to me for £0.45. Thats £0.30 profit for them, and a potential loss of £0.30 for me.
With comparison to Adsense. A company will pay adsense £0.45 for a click. Adsense will then take £0.30. When someone clicks on your site, Adsense give you £0.15. £0.30 profit for Google.
Its called
Business my friend.
